Alone in the Darkness of Times

Pitch black darkness strikes,
As I walked through the arch
of obscurity
Fear crept in silently
Minutes were days
No other companion
But the dead of night
Friendly he was,
With the rushing wind,
Piercing through my soul
Like merciless pikes
Every second, every minute,
I crumbled with the song he played.
The musical voices made silence.
Loneliness forced my heart
To beat with the song
‘God, where are you?
Are your eyes set upon me,
Do you see my fear?’

No one to be seen all night,
the hours crawled,
‘Til the first light of day,

Dawn be with me.
You are my sole redemption.
You killed the night,
With your warm lights of day
You are my hope.
You are my sunshine,
You are my breath of life
I love you.
Obliged, I am to you
For now I am ready;
Ready to fight for the light of day.
